A unique company helping Qatar achieve its vision

The company is involved with the management and supply of construction materials, including rock and gabbro (aggregates), to the construction industry in Qatar, fully utilizing its quarry and shipping operations based in the UAE. This makes Village Trading Group unique in the market in that it is the only group within Qatar to own quarries and maritime transport as well as a substantial logistical force on the ground to serve the nation’s large-scale infrastructure and construction projects.

Since 2004, when we first purchased the quarry in the UAE, the company has supplied many of Qatar’s landmark mega projects. In early 2005, one of our first projects, we supplied Tremix Al Jaber Company with materials for Hamad International Airport – Qatar.

from our start, we began supplying materials to Bechtel Corporation. Soon the company took on more than one major project at a time, able to supply multiple companies simultaneously. The next big project was supplying United Readymix Company for The Pearl-Qatar project. It was at this time that we developed a pupose-built jetty at the Pearl Qatar island which was completed in 2007 which we operated the receiving berth to receive imported raw materials for the next years. As demand grew to over 400,000 tons per year we began utilizing the port facility at Masaieed in order to serve our growing client base, including Tefken for the North Road Project, United Engineers Malaysia on the South Road Project, UDC on The Pearl, Royal Dutch Shell’s project in Ras Laffan and Bechtel Corporation for Hamad International Airport – Qatar.

Following our significant success to date, the company is poised to grab an even larger share of the market for the upcoming mega projects in Qatar such as the Rail and Metro projects, new port, roads and bridges and other infrastructure projects. Through strategic alliances with major players within the construction industry, such as China Harbor Company, Saudi Bin Ladin Group, Al Jaber Group and Al Sraiya Group, the company is looking toward the future with confidence.
